Four Bears Earn Scholar of Distinction Status from NFHCA

NFHCA Release

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Four Ursinus College field hockey players were among the more than 500 Division III student-athletes who were recognized as Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association of America (NFHCA).

The NFHCA's Scholars of Distinction program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher during the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

First-year Amanda Groeling, along with juniors Laura Rothschild, Jordan Ulsh, and Lauren Weaver were the four Bears who earned the Scholar of Distinction honor. It was the second-straight year that both Ulsh and Weaver garnered the accolade.

The Bears placed 22 team members on the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad released last week. The National Academic Team Award will be announced March 29 to round out the NFHCA postseason academic awards.
