Field Hockey closes home slate with 6-0 whitewash of Washington College

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Sixth-ranked Ursinus closed its regular season home schedule on Wednesday night with a 6-0 blanking of Washington College in field hockey action.

The Bears, who clinched a playoff spot with the win and improved to 7-1 in the Centennial, got two
goals from senior Megan Keenan in the win. Keenan scored in the 18th minute and in the 29th minute and had two assists.

On senior night, Stephanie Cooper also scored (at 24:47) while fellow senior Danielle Stong scored at 50:05 on a Keenan assist.

Ann Kopera scored at 18:144, with Brooke Overly scoring at 19:38. 

Senior Kelsey Reed had an assist in the win.

With a 26-7 shot advantage, three different goalkeepers saw action for the Bears. Danielle DeSpirito, also a senior, made two saves. Sydney Godbey and Jules Singer split the last 20 minutes to preserve the shutout.

Ursinus heads to Dickinson Saturday morning for brunch with the Red Devils at 11 a.m.
