WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior forward Devin Brakel (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro-North) scored two goals, as did junior forward Amber Steigerwalt (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) as Ursinus (7-2, 3-1 Centennial) defeated McDaniel (6-4, 1-3 Centennial) 7-0 in field hockey play on Saturday night.

Senior forward Danielle Stong (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) had two assists in the win as Ursinus held McDaniel to just two shots on the day. Ursinus held the Green Terror without a penalty corner.

Stong assisted on the first goal of the game at 8:11, when senior forward Samantha Macchio (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) off of a corner. Steigerwalt then scored at 12:23 on an assist from junior defender Colleen Leahy (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach).

Leahy would score her lone goal at 24:57 when she put one in off of a rebound, while Brakel scored her first goal of the game at 27:04 for a 4-0 lead.

Steigerwalt would score her second goal of the game at 31:20 off of a corner to give Ursinus a 5-0 lead at intermission.

In the second half, Stong scored her lone goal at 53:58 on Leahy's second assist, while Brakel scored on a Stong assist at 60:15.

Senior goalkeeper Danielle DeSpirito (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) made two saves in the win.
