MINNEAPOLIS – Ursinus senior running back Samuel Ragland was named to the D3football.com All-Region 2 third team, announced by the website on Wednesday morning.

The teams, selected in balloting by region 2 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 206 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 77 players were chosen for 79 spots. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 17, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLVIII.

Ragland earns his first-ever postseason accolade from D3football.com after setting career-highs in multiple statistical categories during his final collegiate season. A first team All-Centennial performer, Ragland became the first Bear to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Garry Sheffield in 2002 and became the second player in program history to cross the 3,000-career yard plateau. Ragland ranked second in the Centennial with 17 rushing touchdowns and has caught 41 passes for 365 yards along with two touchdowns. He recorded five 100-yard rushing yard performances during the 2021 season.

Ragland becomes the first Bear to earn D3football.com All-Region honors since Steve Ambs earned second team honors in 2014.
