#6 Swarthmore Beats Ursinus 10-1

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - No. 6-ranked Swarthmore College Baseball cruised to a 10-1 victory over Ursinus on Sunday at Clothier Field.

The Garnet (16-6, 4-2) had 16 hits in the game, and the Bears (12-10, 3-3) had four. Ursinus was fresh off sweeping Johns Hopkins in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Perhaps overshadowed again by offense, junior starting pitcher Jack Corkery threw eight innings of one-run baseball. He allowed just four hits as he improves to 4-0 on the season. His ERA is 1.26 over 28 innings.

Senior Jackson Roberts got things going in the first with an RBI single, and sophomore Michael Sepe had an RBI double right after him.

Garnet senior Conor Elliott drove in one with a single in the third.

Swarthmore sealed the deal by plating five in the fifth. Elliott and Roberts as well as juniors Jared Gillen and Holden Bridge all had RBIs in the fifth frame.

Senior Charles Levitt expanded his Swarthmore-record career home run total to 15 by pulling a solo blast to right field in the fifth. His three homers this season are tied with Roberts, Gillen and junior Cole Beeker for the team lead.

Elliott had Swarthmore's last RBI in the sixth to give him a team-high three on the day. He went 3-for-5.

Levitt went 4-for-5 on Saturday with a double, home run, one RBI and three runs scored. The No. 2 hitter in the lineup has reached base safely in all 22 of Swarthmore's game. He has a hit in 21 of 22 games.

Beeker, Roberts and Sepe all had two hits.

The Garnet play at home again on Tuesday against Muhlenberg at 3:30 p.m.
