Maggie Coulson and
Michelle Santangelo combined for 12 points as the fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team earned its 12
th straight win as the Blue Jays defeated Ursinus, 5-1 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
How it Happened
• Hopkins took a 1-0 lead as
Maggie Coulson took a
Toni Abate corner kick and put a shot past Bear's keeper Sabrina Doherty at 12:36.
• The Blue Jays went up 2-0 when
Mizuho Obayashi sent a cross through the box to
Michelle Santangelo who tapped the ball into the corner of the goal at 22:46.
• JHU had a few more scoring chances but Doherty turned away the attempts to keep the score at 2-0 after the first 45 minutes of play.
• Coulson got her second goal of the game as she lifted the ball over the outstretched hands of Doherty at 48:02.
• Later in the second half, Coulson sent in a cross to Santangelo who headed the ball into the far post for her second goal of the game at 51:09. Just over five minutes later, Coulson set up Santangelo for another goal, sending a pass into the box which Santangelo finished for her third score of the game.

Hannah Lynn came in for
Robyn Lipschultz and the freshman made a great diving save to preserve the Blue Jay shutout.
• Ursinus got on the board on a free kick from Angelo Gervais which went right over the fingertips of Lynn at 79:26.
• Hopkins held the Bears scoreless for the remainder of the game and claimed the 5-1 win.
What it Means
• Hopkins is now 22-0-2 all-time against the Bears.
• The Blue Jays extend their winning streak to 12 and their Centennial Conference winning streak to 19.
• Santangelo now has five career hat tricks which ties the JHU career record held by
Hannah Kronick.
