David Masterson joined the Ursinus men’s soccer program prior to the 2019 season. Masterson comes to the Bears from Penn State Abington, where he was an assistant for the women's team and helped with on-field training, recruiting, compliance, and academic achievement.  

Masterson brings prior Division I coaching experience. He was the assistant women's soccer coach for the University of Pennsylvania in 1994 and at Villanova in 1993. At Villanova, he helped the Wildcats to their first double-digit win season in six years. 

Masterson began his coaching career in 1991 as the first head coach of the Muhlenberg College women’s soccer program.  

Masterson earned his B.A. at the State University of New York in Oneonta in 1988. He founded and created his own company, growing it to $30M in sales annually before selling in 2012. He also co-founded the non-profit organization The Nightlight Foundation, which is designed to address life-long living choices that support individuals with Autism through affordable housing, continuing education, and vocation options within their own community.
