Track Teams Take All-Academic Honors

USTFCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College men's and women's track and field teams continued to set a standard of excellence in the classroom, receiving All-Academic Team Honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).

In order to be eligible for the award, a program must compile a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 academic year. The Ursinus women garnered a 3.35, while the men posted a 3.26.

Tuesday's announcement marked a milestone, representing the first time in the tenure of head coach Carl Blickle that both the men's and women's track and field and cross country squads earned All-Academic certificates in the same year.

Both programs were well represented on the Centennial Conference spring academic honor roll, with 20 student-athletes combining to qualify for the prestigious honor. Rising juniors Griffin McMann and Rachel Coleman joined 2019 graduates Caroline Buckley, Morgan Cope, and Brittany Gasser in collecting Academic All-Centennial laurels for also landing all-conference honors at the championship meet.
