Complete Silver Anniversary Team
LANCASTER, Pa. – Three former Ursinus College women's lacrosse greats were named to the Centennial Conference Silver Anniversary team.
The Centennial Conference is celebrating 25 years as one of the elite small college athletic conferences in the country with the announcement of its Silver Anniversary teams, highlighting the best of the best over our first quarter-century. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a graduate of the institution and be one of the following:
- 3-time or 4-time first team All-CC performer
- 2-time CC Player of the Year
- 1st team All-America AND 2-time first team All-CC performer
- 2-time All-America (1st, 2nd, or 3rd team)
The Bears who earned Silver Anniversary recognition were Missy Myers (1998), Erin (Fitzgerald) Stroble (2002), and Allyson Shicora (2008).
Missy Myers is one of the most prolific scorers in conference history. She is the CC's all-time leader in goals per game (4.71), racking up 160 in just three seasons, and ranks second in points per game (5.79). She was a two-time All-American, grabbing third-team honors in both 1997 and 1998, years in which she also collected first team All-CC status.
Erin Stroble, now Associate Athletic Director at Ursinus, occupies a special place in CC history as one of only two women to garner both Player of the Year and Coach of the Year recognition. The Bears' all-time leader in goals (205) and points (284), Stroble (then Fitzgerald) was named Player of the Year in 2002, when she paired 62 goals with 36 assists and was tabbed a first team CoSIDA Academic All-American and a second team IWLCA All-American. A two-time first team All-CC performer, Stroble earned first team All-America honors in 2001. Stroble led Ursinus to a 63-54 overall record in seven seasons as head coach, steering Ursinus to five CC playoff berths and four appearances in the conference semifinals.
Allyson Shicora was a three-time first team All-CC choice, the only player in program history to accomplish that feat. She holds school records for saves (710) and save percentage (.5453), which rank fourth and ninth, respectively, in CC history, and helped lead the Bears to a pair of CC semifinal trips as a goalie under Stroble. Shicora was a second team All-Metro Region honoree in 2006.
