Cross Country Teams Earn Academic Honor

NEW ORLEANS – Both Ursinus College cross country teams received All-Academic Team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).

For a team to be considered for this honor, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Overall, there were 393 teams honored by the USTFCCCA, of which 215 were women's teams.

The Ursinus women earned a team grade-point average of 3.42, while the men checked in with a 3.25.

The Bears combined to place nine student-athletes on the Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll – sophomore Kyle Berardi, senior Jonny Cope, and juniors John Haase, Craig Lauer, and James McDaid of the men's team and seniors Riley Engel, Brittany Gasser, Gabrielle Manto, and Audrey Simpson of the women's team.
