Women's XC Places 30th at Regionals

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's cross country team capped the 2018 season with one of its best postseason efforts in several years, placing 30th at the NCAA Mideast Regional for the squad's highest finish since 2015.

Senior Riley Engel finished just outside the top-100 for the Bears, who edged out Centennial Conference foe Bryn Mawr in the team standings. Engel's time of 25:24 (a pace of 6:49 per mile) was good for 107th overall.

Senior Gabrielle Manto polished off a strong fall with a 26:09, landing in 149th place with an even 7-minute pace. Fellow senior Audrey Simpson was just a few steps behind in her last regional race, finishing 153rd in 26:13.

Freshman Lauren Ferguson posted a time of 27:03 in her first Mideast Regional, and junior Ellie Stanley was the fifth Ursinus runner to cross the line at 27:51.

First-years Amanda Choi (28:32) and Maddie McHugh (29:33) rounded out the Bears' contingent of seven.
