Engel Sets Pace for Women's XC

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Riley Engle served as pace-setter again as the Ursinus College women's cross country team competed in the Division II/III Challenge at Kutztown University on Saturday.

Engle led the Bears for the second meet in a row, finishing in 45th with a mark of 26:05.00. Ursinus placed ninth among ten schools in the team standings.

Senior Audrey Simpson landed in 64th place, completing the 6-kilometer course in 27:03.6, and freshman Madison Tillman was hot on her heels with a 27:07.5 in her first career 6k.

Senior Gabrielle Manto was the fourth Bear across the line with a clocking of 27:39.0, and junior Ellie Stanley finished with a 27.57.4. Also seeing her first 6k action, rookie Lauren Ferguson clocked a 28:17.1

Another first-year, Maddie McHugh, rounded out the team's top seven in 29:32.3. Fellow rookie Amanda Choi also competed, finishing in 30:40.7.

The women's cross country team continues its season in two weeks at the annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
