Engel Paces Women's Cross Country at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG Pa. – The Ursinus College women's cross country team came in 18th on Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational.

Junior Riley Engel paced the Bears, finishing in 26th place with a time of 24:10.1. Her time was a bit longer than her personal-best performance at the Paul Short Run (9/29), when she completed the trek in 23:32. Her score on Saturday was a huge boost to the team's combined average of 26:09.8.

Senior Lily Talerman crossed the finish line in 25:31.4 – good enough for 82nd place.

The trio of freshman Bianca Joseph (112th, 26:52.6), sophomore Ellie Stanley (127th, 27:03.1) and junior Audrey Simpson (132nd, 27:11.8) finished within 19 seconds of each other, with Joseph leading the way.

Sophomore Alyson Manley finished in 28:02.9 while junior Gabrielle Manto wrapped up in 28:34.2.

The Centennial Conference Championship is set for October 29.
