Volleyball runs win streak to five with victory over Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Ursinus College volleyball team ran its win streak to five matches with a 3-0 win over Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday night.

Set scores were 25-11, 25-17 and 25-19.

For the Bears, who are now 5-2, sophomore middle blocker Sam Murphy (Holden, Mass./Wachusett Regional) had a great night as she five kills without an error on 12 attempts (.417 kill percentage). Junior outside hitter Karla Thiele (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins) had 13 kills on 42 attacks, with freshman outside hitter Taylor McCartney (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) chipping in nine.

Freshman outside hitter Allison Raff (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) had five kills as well.

Senior setter Gina Powers (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) had 30 assists on the night, with Thiele getting 17 digs defensively.

The Bears had eight service aces, with Raff getting four.

Ursinus will head to Delaware Valley on Thursday, before opening up at home on Saturday morning, with an early 11 a.m. matchup against Albright.
