COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – For the second time this season, the Ursinus College women's volleyball team went five sets at home on Wednesday night.
This time, Ursinus (5-5) came out on the right end of a 3-2 win over PSU-Berks. Set scores were 18-25, 28-26, 22-25, 25-23 and 15-8.
Ursinus was paced by a match-high and season-high 24 kills by sophomore outside hitter Karla Thiele (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins), who also had 15 digs.
Senior outside hitter Anahi McIntyre (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) set a new season high with 19 kills. She also had three solo blocks.
Junior setter Gina Powers (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) assisted on 37 of the 58 kills, while freshman setter Emily van Mulbregt (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) had 12 assists.
Defensively, junior libero Leah Masiello (New Castle, Del./St. Elizabeth's) had 33 digs in the match, with junior defensive specialist Joy Oakman (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) adding in 13.
Ursinus hosts F&M on Saturday.
