ASTON, Pa. – The Ursinus College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Knights Fall Classic hosted by Neumann University on Saturday.
The Bears dropped their opener 3-1 to Rowan then fell to host Neumann by a 3-0 score.
In the Rowan match, set scores were 26-24, 25-17, 23-25 and 26-24.
Ursinus was led by a match-high 18 kills from senior middle blocker Kristin Hanratty (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), with junior middle blocker Mara Berzins (Perkasie, Pa./Penn Ridge) taking eight. Sophomore setter Gina Powers (Wallington, Pa./Strath Haven) had seven kills along with 31 assists.
Sophomore libero Leah Masiello (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth's) had 15 digs. Hanratty also chipped in with two blocks.
In the Neumann match, Ursinus (7-14) lost by scores of 25-11, 25-22 and 25-16.
Junior middle blocker Anahi McIntyre (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) led the way with nine kills, with Hanratty netting six. Powers had 22 assists, with Masiello netting six digs.
Ursinus heads to Washington (Md.) on Wednesday.
