Volleyball outlasts Bryn Mawr, 3-2

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Ursinus picked up its first Centennial win this year as the Bears defeated Bryn Mawr, 3-2, in volleyball action on Thursday evening.

Set scores were 15-25, 25-20, 11-25, 25-17 and 15-8 in favor of the Bears (5-9, 1-2 Centennial).

For Ursinus, three players had 10-plus kills on the night as senior middle blocker Kristin Hanratty (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) led all Ursinus attackers with 15, with junior middle blocker Anahi McIntyre (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) getting 13. New team member senior Kayla McLeod (Nashville, Tenn.) had 12 digs in the win.

Sophomore setter Gina Powers (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) had 48 assists on the night.

Defensively, sophomore libero Leah Masiello (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth's) had 26 digs with Hanratty getting 12 and Powers ten.

Hanratty and senior defensive specialist Kaitlyn Ott (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) each had three service aces as well.

Ursinus took control of the match in the fifth set as the Bears raced out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back. McIntyre had two kills during that stretch. Hanratty had three kills in the last set, including the match ending service ace.

Ursinus hosts McDaniel on Saturday.
