Volleyball takes down Rutgers-Camden, 3-1

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Ursinus College volleyball team continued their hot start on Tuesday night.

After dropping the first set against Rutgers-Camden, the Bears (7-3) won the next three to take a 3-1 decision over the Scarlet Raptors by scores of 30-32, 25-18, 25-15 and 25-19.

It was an all-around effort by the Bears, as three players posted double digits in kills, two had double numbers in assists and four players had ten or more digs defensively. 

Sophomore middle blocker Anahi McIntyre (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) led a 52 kill attack with 13 kills, while junior middle blocker Kristin Hanratty (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) had 11 and senior setter Elizabeth Roth (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) had ten. Freshman setter Gina Powers (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) had 24 assists, half of Ursinus' 48 assists in the match, with Roth picking up 15.

Defensively, freshman libero Leah Masiello (New Castle, Del./St. Elizabeth's) had 31 digs, with Roth and Hanratty going for 13 each. Powers picked up 11.

Hanratty also had two solo blocks and five block assists, as Ursinus now gets ready for Centennial play on Saturday afternoon with Gettysburg.
