COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - It was déjà vu for the Ursinus
volleyball team on Thursday, as the Bears again went to five sets
against Wesley.
The result was the same as Ursinus gutted out a 3-2 win over the
Wolverines. The Bears (6-10) defeated Wesley (5-14) earlier in the
season by the same score.
Set scores Thursday night were: 27-25, 24-26, 16-25, 25-18 and
17-15.
For the Bears, junior outside hitter Gabriella Galleo
(Reading, Pa./Spring-Ford) had a match-high 14 kills,
while junior outside hitter Mary Kate Wilmoth (Wilmington,
Del./St. Mark's) had 12 kills. Freshman middle blocker
Kristin Hanratty (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson)
had ten kills and three service aces.
Sophomore setter Elizabeth Roth (York, Pa./Dallastown
Area) had 33 assists.
Galleo had 20 digs defensively, while Wilmoth added in 19. Senior
libero Jennifer Fargo (Secaucus, N.J./Lacoradire
Academy) had 17 digs, with Roth getting 13.
The Bears were aided by 16 Wolverine service errors.
Ursinus hosts Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon.
