Timmons Receives Linda L. McIntyre Award

Dominique Timmons, a member of the women's track and field team, was selected as the recipient of the Linda L. McIntyre Award, the first installment of Ursinus' annual athletic awards.

The Linda L. McIntyre Award is given annually to a sophomore woman who, during her freshman and sophomore years, demonstrates initiative in financing her education; proficiency and perseverance in intercollegiate athletics; and a cooperative and unselfish attitude in women's sports.

Timmons keeps a busy schedule on top of her athletic and academic commitments. She works around 20 hours per week at Panera and Royal Farms, with most – if not all – of her earnings going towards college expenses.

On the track, Timmons is a burgeoning sprinting star with five combined medals through her first two championship meets. She earned three medals at last year's Centennial Conference indoor championships, running the second leg of the winning 4x200-meter relay and the anchor leg of the runner-up 4x400 relay in addition to a bronze medal in the 60-meter dash.

Timmons was the final leg of the 4x100-meter relay unit that captured gold at last week's CC outdoor championships. She also was part of the third-place 4x400 meter relay. Timmons placed seventh in the 100-meter dash and was 10th in the 200.
