Women's T&F Takes Fourth at CC Champs

LANCASTER, Pa. – A runner-up effort in the 4x400-meter relay vaulted the Ursinus College women's track and field team into fourth place at the close of the Centennial Conference indoor championships.

When Rachel Coleman, Dominique Timmons, Michela Coleman, and Jill Rotman crossed the finish line with a time of 4:09.86 to claim silver, Ursinus moved a half-point ahead of Muhlenberg in the team standings and secured its best placement at the indoor championships since 2013. The Bears wound up with 63.25 team points.

The relay title was the first indoor 4x400-meter gold medal in program history. It was also one of two silver medals on the day for the Bears. The other was Isabelle Deal's record-breaking performance in the shot put, a heave of 41-3.25 that eclipsed the previous team standard set by Amanda Birnbauer in 2014.

Timmons also registered a bronze medal in the 60-meter dash, setting a new personal best with a clocking of 8.02 seconds. Kate Hunt was right behind her in fourth place at 8.11 seconds.

Rachel Conhoff found herself just off the podium in the mile, completing the race in 5:20.10 to take fourth.

Hunt was fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.05), where Mer'c Van Ness captured eighth place with a personal-best 27.26.

Rosie Cuomo placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a career-best 9.94.

Julia Rakovska unlocked a new PR to place seventh in the high jump with a 4-9.50. She was joined among the place-winning ranks by Gianna Speranza, who tied for eighth at 4-7.50.

Mary Zukus was a place-winner in the 800, crossing the line in eighth with a 2:28.02. Rotman was 11th in 2:29.31.
