Women's T&F Takes on NYC Invitational

NEW YORK – The Ursinus College women's track and field team competed at the historic Armory as part of the NYC Invitational on Friday, getting several impressive mid-distance and distance performances among a balanced overall effort.

Jill Rotman turned in a sensational debut in the 800 meters, soaring all the way to fourth in the Centennial Conference with a 2:26.08.

Rachel Conhoff lowered her personal best by nearly 15 seconds in the mile, moving up to sixth on the CC performance list with a time of 5:15.68. Holly Chambers' 5:35.19 was a PR by over 10 seconds, and Lauren Ferguson cut almost 30 full seconds off her previous collegiate best with a 5:46.27. Alyson Manley made it a clean sweep of PRs with a 5:52.85.

Kate Hunt (27.31) and Dominique Timmons (27.52) represented the Bears in the 200-meter dash, with Timmons collecting a PR.

Timmons and Rotman were part of the 4x400-meter relay squad, which also included Rachel Coleman and Michela Coleman and resulted in a blazing time of 4:09.73. That mark is second in the Centennial, about two seconds behind Johns Hopkins.

Sophia Simoes placed third in the weight throw (41-5.00) and Isabelle Deal took fifth in the shot put (36-12.25), where Hannah Bierling tallied a 33-4.00.

The Bears host the annual Frank Colden Invitational next Saturday.
