Cope Wins Pole Vault

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –  The Ursinus women's track and field team picked up several top-five finishes and an event win from senior pole vaulter Morgan Cope in the Frank Colden Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center.

Cope continued her strong indoor campaign with a clearance of 10 feet which tied three other athletes at the top of the event. Cope was six inches from her school record mark that she set earlier this season.

Three Ursinus athletes picked up third place finishes. Those were sophomore Gianna Speranza, seniors Brittany Gasser and Gabrielle Manto. Speranza had a high jump leap of 4 feet and 8.25 inches. Gasser finished the 400-meter race in a time of 1:01.34 just shy of her best by four hundredths of a second. Manto took home a podium finish in the 800 (2:26.93). Her time was a personal best by six and half seconds.

Ursinus' 4x200 meter relay team's time of 1:51.37 was good for 4th out of 13 teams.

Senior Caroline Buckley earned 9th in triple jump with a mark of 33-4.5.

Sophomores Rachel Coleman finished 10th in the 400 (1:03.32) and Michela Coleman 13th in the 200 (27.68).

Freshman Rachel Conhoff place 12th in the mile run with a time of 5:55.14.
