Buczek Repeats as All-Region Honoree

2018 USTFCCCA All-Region

NEW ORLEANS – Catherine Buczek polished off her standout career with the Ursinus College women's track and field team with another All-Mideast Region laurel from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).

All-region status is awarded to student-athletes who rank within the top five in each event in each region, as well as the top three relay teams.

Buczek nabbed outdoor all-region recognition in the 400-meter hurdles for the second year in a row. The Bears' co-captain registered a top time of 1:02.97, easily outpacing the rest of the field at the Centennial Conference championship as she became the first in program history to win gold in the event. It was the second career individual medal for Buczek, who took silver at last year's outdoor meet.

Buczek, who also collected a silver medal as part of the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay squads, extended the Bears' run of outdoor all-region honorees to three years; assistant coach Krista Snyder received the award in both the heptathlon and long jump in 2016.
