Women's T&F Strong at Coach P Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A conference-leading effort from Catherine Buczek headlined a strong all-around effort from the Ursinus College women's track and field team at Moravian's Coach P Invitational on Saturday.

Buczek stood out in her 400-meter hurdles season debut, jumping all the way to the top of the Centennial Conference performance list with a 1:06.61 that placed her in eighth overall.

Freshman Kira Miller chopped a half-second off her PR and moved just outside the top-10 in the conference with a 17.51 in the 100-meter hurdles.

Another rookie, Gianna Speranza, notched a personal best and finished second in her heat with a 13.22 in the 100-meter dash, where she ranks seventh in the conference. Speranza also tallied a PR in the 200-meter dash with a 27.29 that puts her tenth in the CC.

Fellow freshman Rachel Coleman was impressive in her 400-meter dash debut, logging a 1:02.17 to land right outside the ten best times in the conference this season. Senior Jenna Kelly was close behind at 1:02.55 and sophomore Catherine Curran finished in 1:05.97.

Freshman Kateryna Swan matched her PR with a 4-9 in the high jump, remaining tied for ninth in the CC. Junior Morgan Cope also equaled her season high with an even 10 feet in the pole vault, which ranks fifth in the conference.

Freshman Vikki Rueda-Juarez added more than six feet to her season-best mark in the discus, tossing a 96-3 to climb six spots up to 14th in the conference. Junior Mikaela Bordonaro tacked on more than five feet to her season best with a 93-2.

Sophomore Ellie Stanley secured a new personal best with a 21:39.70 in the 5000 meters.
