Women's Tennis Downed by Washington

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 Centennial Conference decision to a talented Washington College squad on Saturday.

The Shorewomen (4-1, 3-0) brought just five players but won every contested match.

Brenna Trkula came close to snagging a court for the Bears (1-1, 1-1). After falling 6-2 in the first set, she battled back to claim a 7-5 decision in the second, but Piper Sartison claimed the ensuing tiebreaker to complete the final result.

The number two doubles court was a family affair for Ursinus rookie Avery Samer, who was matched up against her sister Ella.

Ursinus hits the road for the first time on Tuesday, when the Bears head to Allentown to take on Muhlenberg.
