GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis dropped its lone Fall match on Tuesday afternoon by a 5-3 score to Gwynedd-Mercy University.
The Bears had a 2-1 lead after doubles, as the team of senior BreAnna Bashaw (Vernon, Vt./Northfield-Mount Hermon School) and sophomore Ariel Danziger (Woodcliff Lake, N.J./Pascack Hills) defeated Taylor Michener and Natalie Danze, 8-5 at number two flight, while the team of senior Stephanie-Jane Seabra (York, Pa./York Suburban) and junior Christine Palazzolo (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) defeated Kristen Kriebel and Jenna Caffarello at number three doubles, 8-5.
In singles play, GMU won four of five matches contest, as number six doubles was unfinished. Sophomore Aileen Bevard (West Chester, Pa./Ursuline Academy) won at number three singles, 7-5, 6-3, over Taylor Michener.
