Women's Tennis falls to Swarthmore, 6-3

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Swarthmore on Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference play.

The Bears swept all three doubles matches via default as the team of senior Jimena Talavera (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson) and sophomore Heather McMasters (Wyoming, Del./Caesar Rodney) was awarded a win at number one flight, while junior Jessica Tyrrell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) and senior Dana McDonough (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was awarded the W at number two flight.

At number three flight, freshman Jami Dumler (York, Pa./York Catholic) and freshman Audrey Whitebloom (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) was awarded the win.

Ursinus was awarded the doubles matches as Swarthmore showed up more than 15 minutes after the match was scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.

From there, Swarthmore swept all six singles matches to take the victory.

Ursinus, now 4-9 and 0-5 in the Centennial, will be at Gettysburg Saturday.
