Women's Tennis takes out Alvernia, 7-2

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa – The Ursinus College women's tennis team won its second straight match at home on Saturday afternoon, defeating Alvernia by a 7-2 score.

For the Bears (4-3), Mara Berzins won her match at number two flight singles by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, over Lillian Snyder, with Jimena Talavera winning her match over Kayla Morgan at number three flight, 6-4, 6-1.

At number four flight, Jessica Tyrrell won her match over Jennifer Innamorato, 6-1, 6-1, while Caroline Lippe won her match at number five flight over Laura Ehnes by a 6-1, 6-1 score.

At number six flight, Dana McDonough defeated Katherine Ghiorzi, 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles play, the team of Heather McMasters and Talavera defeated Snyder and Innamorato at number two flight, 8-2. At number three flight, McDonough and Berzins defeated Ehnes and Brittany Veith, 8-2.
