Women's Swimming Dives Into Conferences

LANCASTER, PA. - After day one of the Centennial Conference championships, the Ursinus College Women's Swimming team is tied for fourth place after totaling 76 points through four events.  

After day one, Swarthmore sits in first place with 116 points, Franklin and Marshall in second with 88 points and Washington College rounds out the top three with 80 total points.  

The Bears started off the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-medley race. The quartet of Katie Barlow, Abigail Ferguson, Liv Rachael, and Sophie Lear combined for a time of 1:46.49, just under two seconds faster than their previous best this season.  

In the final relay of the evening, the 800-freestyle relay, the Bears earned a bronze medal finish. The team of Barlow, Molly Stevens, Melissa Leonard, and Ro Murphy touched the wall at 7:52.01.  

The championships resume Friday at 10 a.m. with prelims in selected events.
