RADNOR, Pa. – The No. 17 Ursinus College women's swimming team grabbed first place in all but one event on the way to a 128-69 rout of Cabrini in Friday's season opener.

Seniors Clara Baker and Peyten Lyons, sophomore Allison Thomas, and first-years Sophie Lear and Katie Schultz all paired an individual win with a spot on a first-place relay unit for the Bears, who extended their dual-meet winning streak over Division III competition to 60. Sophomore Sophie May swam on both first-place relay groups.

Lear kicked off her collegiate career with a flourish, swimming the lead leg of the victorious 200 medley relay team; that group also included senior Caroline Powell, Lyons, and May and touched the wall in 1:54.62.

Baker won the 1000 free in 11:30.54, and junior Haley Sturla captured the 200 free (2:04.44) ahead of senior Katherine Madden (2:06.95).

Schultz's first individual race ended in glory as the rookie snared top prize in the 50 free with a clocking of 26.20.

Sophomore Katelyn Moore's 5:01.14 earned top billing in the 400 IM, and Thomas won the 200 fly in 2:26.71.

Lear's first career individual win came in the 200 back, where she posted a mark of 2:22.00.

Sophomore Katherine Kurzinsky led the way in the 500 free (5:32.10) before Lyons concluded the individual portion of the night with a win in the 200 breast (2:37.44).

Thomas, Baker, May, and Scholtz swam to first place with a time of 1:41.60 in the 200 free relay, the last event of the evening.

The Bears have less than 24 hours before opening Centennial Conference competition with a dual at Dickinson.
