WSwim remains in first after Day Two of CC Championships

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Heading into the final day of the 2015 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships, the Ursinus College women's swimming team is in first place with a total team score of 462.50, 33 points ahead of second-place Gettysburg.

Once again, several school, pool and conference records were set in the evening session.

Starting with the 200 medley relay, the team of sophomore Alli Hemp, freshman Olivia Tierney, freshman Katherine Porter and junior Micaela Lyons set a school record with a time of 1:48.34.

In the B final, freshman Meggie Leitz, sophomore Katie Pielmeier, freshman Reney Hess, senior Chelsea Kozior finished third with a time of 1:52.88.

In the 400 IM, Pielmeier set a school record with a time of 4:35.59, which was good enough for second place and a NCAA B cut time.

In the 100 fly, Porter was second with a time of 57.64, which set a school record. In the B final, Hess was 12th overall with a time of 1:00.46, followed by Leitz (1:00.50), senior Rebecca Schroll (1:00.67) and Hemp (1:00.71).

Junior Corinne Capodanno set a school, conference and championship record with a time of 1:51.48, which was also an NCAA B cut in the 200 free as she won the event. Kozior was third with a time of 1:54.82, with freshman Sydney Gunderson in sixth with a time of 1:55.94.

In the B final, senior Amanda Lucock was tenth with a time of 1:58.34, followed by freshman Rachel Weil in 16th with a time of 2:02.69.

Tierney set a school record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.11. In the 100 back, Lyons was tied for tenth with a time of 1:01.11. Leitz was 13th overall with a time of 1:01.79.

Finally, the team of Gundersen, Lucock, Kozior and Capodanno won the 800 free relay with a time of 7:41.71, which was a championship record and a NCAA B cut.
