Women's Swimming remains unbeaten with win over LVC

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team moved their record to 3-0 on Saturday morning, as the Bears defeated Lebanon Valley by a score of 116-77.

The Bears took first in nearly every event, and swam the last three events in exhibition.

Ursinus scored 15 points in the opening relay by taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley. The team of freshman Meggie Leitz, freshman Olivia Tierney, sophomore Alli Hemp and freshman Sydney Gunderson won the event at 1:53.13. In second, the team of senior Chelsea Kozior, senior Margo Randelman, senior Rebecca Schroll and senior Amanda Lucock finished with a time of 2:04.09.

Junior Corinne Capodanno won the 1000 free with a time of 10:51.74, with senior Naomi Bye in third at 12:43.51.

The Bears took the top three spots in the 200 free with Tierney winning the event at 2:06.85, followed by sophomore Allison Emick in second at 2:08.31 and Schroll in third at 2:12.48.

In the 50 free, Kozior won the event at 26.07, with Lucock in second at 26.11 and sophomore Marisa Ferrari in third at 26.53.

Gunderson won the 200 IM at 2:15.54 followed by freshman Reney Hess in second at 2:23.56.

Leitz picked up her first top finish on the day in the 100 fly at 59.82 with Hemp in second at 1:02.42 and sophomore Cat Wilson in third at 1:06.64.

Hess won the 100 free at 57.53 followed by Emick in second at 58.20.

Capodanno picked up her second top finish of the day in the 100 back at 1:03.74 with freshman Rachel Weil in second at 1:06.82.

Ursinus will host McDaniel on Saturday.
