Women's Swimming defeats Albright, 120-80

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Swimming at home for the first time in the 2014-15 season, the Ursinus College women's swimming team defeated Albright by a 120-80 score to move to 2-0 on the young season.

The Bears went 1-2 in the opening relay, the 200 yard medley, with the team of Corinne Capodanno, Katie Pielmeier, Katherine Porter and Alli Hemp winning the event at 1:53.83 and the team of Meggie Leitz, Amanda Lucock, Reney Hess and Marisa Ferrari in second at 1:58.32.

In the 1000 free, Olivia Tierney was second with a time of 11:15.35.

Sydney Gundersen was first in the 200 free at 1:57.68, with Chelsea Kozior in second at 2:02.

Capodanno won the 50 free at 24.91, while Porter was second at 26.52.

In the 200 IM, Pielmeier was first at 2:16.41 followed by Hemp in the second at 2:21.65.

Porter won the 100 fly at 1:0042, with Hess in second at 1:01.12 and Rebecca Schroll in third at 1:04.11

In the 100 free, Kozior was first at 55.90, with Lucock in second at 57.22

Leitz won the 100 back at 1:02.52, with Hemp in third at 1:04.20.

Gundersen won her second event of the day, winning the 500 free at 5:19.21.

Ursinus then went into exhibition for the last two events.
