Women's Swimming downs Washington, 112-82

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team moved its record to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference with a 112-82 win over Washington College on Saturday afternoon.

Five different swimmers took first place finishes, while the Bears won both relays on the afternoon.

In the relays, the team of junior Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School), freshman Corrine Capodanno (Claymont, Del./Padua Academy), senior Kelsey Yoo (Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central) and junior Chelsea Kozior (Holland, PA./Council Rock South) won the opening 200 yard medley relay at 1:55.72.  The team of Lair Ferrari, senior Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), junior Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) and sophomore Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) won the 200 free relay to cap the meet at 1:42.92.

Individually, Serfass won the 1000 free at 11:25.56, while Kolosky captured the 50 free at 25.29. Freshman Kyleigh Hamilton (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was tops in the 400 IM at 5:00.24, followed by Lair Ferrari in the 200 back at 2:14.40.

Capodanno won the 500 free at 5:24.84.

Sophomore Amanda Lucock (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) was one of three swimmers to earn second place finishes, as she took second in the 200 free at 2:04.04, followed by junior Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) in the 400 IM at 5:01.03. Kozior was second in the 100 free at 55.57.

Sophomore Margo Randelman (Palm Harbor, Fla./Palm Harbor University HS) was third in the 1000 free at 11:41.81, one of six swimmers to take third.

Freshman Micaela Lyons (Plainfield, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartridge) was third in the 200 free at 2:05.15, with Yoo taking third in the 50 free at 26.27. Ludwig had a third place finish in the 100 free at 56.51, with junior Kimberly Bullock (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) (200 back, 2:29.66) and Russell (200 breast, 2:39.10) taking third in their respective events.

Ursinus heads to Bryn Mawr next Saturday, its last dual meet before Centennial Conference Championships on Feb. 22-24.
