Women's Swimming downed by Swarthmore, 108-97

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team dropped a close 108-97 decision to Swarthmore (4-1, 3-0 Centennial) on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial swimming meet. Ursinus falls to 4-2, 2-2 Centennial with the loss.

Junior Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:44.60 along with the 200 IM at 2:15.20 and the 200 back at 2:14.51, with sophomore Chelsea Kozior (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) winning the 200 free at 2:03.36.

Freshman Kyleigh Hamilton (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was second in the 1000 free at 11:08.88, junior Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) was second in the 200 free at 2:04.82 and in the 500 free at 5:25.11

Freshman Corinne Capodanno (Claymont, Del./Padua Academy) was second in the 50 free at 25.28 , the 200 breast at 2:32.41 and in the 100 free at 54.23.

Sophomore Amanda Lucock (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) was third in the 200 free at 2:07.68, Hamilton was third in the 200 fly at 2:19.99, while senior Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) was third in the 100 free at 57.05.

Sophomore Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin) netted a third place finish in the 200 back at 2:19.72.

The team of Ludwig, Kolosky, sophomore Rebecca Schroll  (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and freshman Michaela Lyons (Plainfield, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartride School) was second in the 400 medley relay at 4:15.78.

Kolosky, Ludwig, Lyons and Kozior finished second in the 400 free relay at 3:44.26.
