Women's Swimming now 4-0 after downing McDaniel

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team remained unbeaten on the season at 4-0 with 116-87 win over McDaniel on Saturday afternoon. The win also moved Ursinus to 2-0 in Centennial action.

Ursinus opened up with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as the team of junior Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School), junior Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot), freshman Corinne Capodanno (Claymont, Del./Padua Academy) and freshman Micaela Lyons (Plainfield, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartridge School) took first with a time of 1:54.43.

Ursinus went 1-3 in the 1000 free at freshman Kyleigh Hamilton (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) won the event at 11:17.15, followed by junior Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) in third at 11:34.41.

Sophomore Chelsea Kozior (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was first in the 200 free at 2:02.17.

Lyons was second in the 50 free at 25.71, followed by a third place finish from sophomore Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) at 26.18.

Lair Ferrari then won the 200 IM at 2:14.94, followed by Capodanno in second at 2:16.84.

Hamilton picked up her second win of the day as she captured the 100 fly at 1:03.37, followed by sophomore Rebecca Schroll (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) in second at 1:04.22.

Lyons took second in the 100 free at 56.44, followed by senior Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) in third at 57.04.

Lair Ferrari would then win the 100 back at 59.60, with Ludwig in third at 1:04.45.

In the 500 free, Kozior finished first at 5:30.52, with Hamilton taking third at 5:32.68.

Capodanno would win the 100 breast at 1:11.02, sealing the win for the Bears.

Ursinus heads to Gettysburg on Saturday.
