GETTYSBURG, Pa. – For the second straight season, sophomore Malena Lair Ferrari will leave the Centennial Conference Championships with a gold medal, as she captured the top mark in the 100 backstroke, highlighting Ursinus' Saturday night in the poll.

Lair Ferrari finished with a time of 58.73 to win the gold, giving the Bears 20 points and keeping them in third place at 374 points heading into the final day.

In that same event, freshman Anne Ludwig finished fourth with a time of 1:01.68.

Recapping the rest of the night, the Bears started by going seventh in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.65 as the team of Ludwig, sophomore Katy Martin, freshman Rebecca Schroll and freshman Amanda Lucock earned 24 points.

The team of sophomore Bryn O'Neill, junior Sarah Kolosky, senior Danielle Yentz and freshman Chelsea Kozior finished in 11th with a time of 1:55.17.

In the 400 IM, sophomore Eva Russell took fifth with a time of 4:48.51, with sophomore Kimberly Bullock taking 16th at 5:06.29.

In the 100 butterfly, Schroll finished fourth with a time of 1:00.46, while Yentz finished tenth at 1:01.49

In the 200 free, Yeity was sixth with a time of 1:58.51, O'Neill was ninth with a time of 1:58.60, with Kozior (1:59.28, 11th), Lucock (1:59.77, 13th) and sophomore Molly Serfass (2:00.35, 14th) also earning points.

In the 100 breast, Russell was 11th with a time of 1:10.72 with Martin taking 16th at 1:13.72.

Closing the night, the team of Lair Ferrari, O'Neill, Kozior and Yeity was second at 7:51.02 in the 800 free relay.



SATURDAY AM
The Ursinus College women's swimming team set themselves up for a great Saturday night after the morning preliminaries at the 2012 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships.

In the opening 400 IM, sophomore Eva Russell earned her way in the A finals with a time of 4:48.67, with sophomore Kimberly Bullock was 14th at 5:04.76 to earn a spot in the B finals.

In the 100 butterfly, freshman Rebecca Schroll was fifth at 1:00.90 to get a berth in the A finals, with senior Danielle Yentz taking ninth at 1:02.05 to get into the B finals.

In the 200 free, freshman Katie Yeity was tied for seventh to get into the A finals with a time of 1:58.95, followed by sophomore Bryn O'Neill in 11th place at 1:59.40, freshman Amanda Lucock in 14th place at 2:00.84 and sophomore Molly Serfass in 15th at 2:01.16.

Russell earned a spot in the 100 breaststroke B finals with a time of 1:10.35, sophomore Katy Martin in 15th at 1:13.27.

In the 100 backstroke, sophomore Malena Lair Ferrari is seeded first with a time of 59.43, with freshman Anne Ludwig in seventh at 1:02.40.
