COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus College swim team came away with
a split in a Centennial Conference dual meet with Washington
College on Saturday afternoon.
The men (6-5, 2-4 Centennial) defeated the Shoremen (3-5, 0-4
Centennial) 129-75, while the Shorewomen (7-2, 3-2 Centennial)
defeated Ursinus (8-3, 3-3 Centennial) 131-74.
Women
While the women did not capture a top finish in the individual
events, the team of freshman Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill,
N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), junior Jess Saloky
(Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy), freshman Jeannie
Weaver (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and senior
Melissa Krupa (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan)
won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:44.83.
Senior Emily Herman (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham
Township) picked up two second place finishes in the 500
free (5:29.15) and the 200 free (2:05.39)
Kolosky finished second in the 50 free with a time of 25.89, while
Saloky took second in the 200 IM at 2:22.57.
Senior Melissa Krupa (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop
Ryan) took second in the 100 free at 58.88, while senior
Elizabeth Gombosi (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) took
second in the 100 back at 1:05.45.
Finally, junior Bridget Winn (Coatesville,
Pa./Coatesville) was second in the 100 breast at
1:09.65.
The women's team will host Bryn Mawr next Saturday, while the
men's team will next be in action at the Centennial Conference
Championships on Friday, February 19 through Sunday, February 21.
