LANCASTER, Pa. - Ursinus was swept at both ends of a Centennial
Conference dual meet on Saturday afternoon by Franklin &
Marshall.
The women (8-2, 3-2 Centennial) were defeated 125-71, while the men
(5-5, 1-4 Centennial) were handed a 124-68 loss.
Women
The Bears started off the day by winning the 200 yard medley relay
as senior Elizabeth Gombosi (Wellsboro,
Pa./Wellsboro), junior Bridget Winn (Coatesville,
Pa./Coatesville), freshman Jeannie Weaver (Mays
Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and freshman Sarah Kolosky
(Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) won the event with a
time of 1:56.48.
In the 1650 free, senior Emily Herman (Glenside,
Pa./Cheltenham Township) took third with a mark of
18:53.18. Weaver also took home a third place finish n the 50 free
with a time of 26.86.
Herman finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:22.90,
with Weaver again taking third in an event in the 100 free at
59.09.
Sophomore Danielle Yentz (Springfield,
Pa./Springfield) secured a second-place finish in the 200
backstroke at 2:19.88.
Ursinus first top finish in an individual event came in the 200
backstroke as junior Jess Saloky (Feasterville,
Pa./Neshaminy) won with a time of 2:34.12. Junior
Kacie McCormick (Springfield, Pa./Springfield)
finished second in the event with a time of 2:48.58.
Finally, the team of Yentz, Kolosky, freshman Kelsey Yoo
(Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and senior
Melissa Krupa (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan)
won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:47.23
