COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus College swimming team improved
to 3-0 on the young season with a dual meet sweep of Drew on Friday
night.
The men won by a score of 107-68, while the women won 108-61.
For the women, the Bears won the 200-medley relay as the team
of freshman Sarah Ryan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of
Lourdes), sophomore Kathryn Pall (Havertown,
Pa./Academy of Notre Dame De Namur), junior
Bridget Winn (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and
senior Melissa Krupa (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop
Ryan) won the event at 2:02.11.
In the 1000-free, sophomore Kelly Reynolds (Newark,
Del./Sanford School) took the top spot at 12:21.69.
In the 200-free, senior Casey Gilmore (Glenside,
Pa./Abington) took first at 2:13.36, followed by Pall at
2:14.74.
In the 50-free, Winn was second at 28.21. Ryan had a second-place
finish in the 200-IM at 2:34.28.
Senior Emily Herman (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham
Township) won the 100-fly with a time of 1:05.79, followed
by Reynolds in second at 1:13.18.
In the 100-free, sophomore Danielle Yentz (Springfield,
Pa./Springfield) won the event at 58.44, followed by
junior Kacie McCormick (Springfield,
Pa./Springfield) at 1:01.76.
Freshman Jennie Weaver (Mays Landing,
N.J./Oakcrest) took the 100-back at 1:05.80, followed by a
first-place finish in the 500-free for freshman Kaylani
Wertman (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) with a time of
5:46.41. Gilmore took second at 5:50.23.
That was the final event the women scored in for the evening.
