Women's Soccer Held Scoreless in 1-0  Loss at Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Ursinus College women's soccer team was held scoreless on Wednesday afternoon as it fell, 1-0, at Washington College. The Shorewomen found the back of the net in the 64th minute to take the 1-0 lead.  

The Bears defense fended off the early Shorewomen attack as goalkeeper Sarah Embley came away with a pair of early saves. Skylar Knapp had an early shot blocked, but Taylor Beaumont got one through the Washington College defense that was turned away in the 31st minute. 

Sabrina Doherty came in for the second half and tallied three saves. The Shorewomen found the back of the net in the 65th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Looking for an equalizer, The Bears almost answered on a corner opportunity, but a header by Gracia DiBianco was blocked and a shot by Knapp was saved. Raya Mount fired a shot in the final seconds but was unable to find the back of the net.

Ursinus was outshot 12-6 and 6-3 on shots on goal. Washington College also held a 4-2 advantage on corner opportunities. 

The Bears wrap up their season on Saturday at Bryn Mawr.
