COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The six seniors of the Ursinus College women's soccer team went out in impressive fashion as the Bears cruised past Bryn Mawr, 8-1, at a chilly Patterson Field on Saturday.

The senior class of Jenna Endy, Mackenzie Groff, Colleen Becker, Kasey Sheahan, Bridget Rauh and Kailey Ryan were all honored for their dedicated service to athletics, academics and extracurricular activities before the match.

Coming off a big 1-0 win over Washington College, Ursinus (8-7-2, 4-6) used a five-goal onslaught from the 16^th minute to the 38^th minute to remain unbeaten in 22 all-time meetings (19-0-3) with Bryn Mawr (1-13-2, 0-10).

The duo of freshman Kelly Gardus and sophomore Angela Gervasi each scored two goals on the way to victory as the Bears outshot the Owls (25-5).

To get the scoring party started, the senior connection of Sheahan to Groff allowed the Bears to get on the board first. Sheahan played a through ball to Groff at the top of the box before she buried a strike toward the left post to give the Bears the 1-0 lead. Groff picked up her sixth goal of the season and 16^th of her career, which puts her seventh in program history.

In the 22^nd minute, sophomore goalie Sabrina Doherty took a free kick from about middle field, finding Gardus in the box who poked a low ball past the keeper into the net.

Gervasi scored off a 30-yard set piece in the 26^th minute, and fellow sophomore Julia Ewing put a perfectly placed left-footed tough-angled shot from the left side of the field over the keeper to the top right corner of the goal in the 32^nd minute.

Gervasi scored her second goal of the match on another free kick, this time from 20 yards out on a shot to the top right in the 38^th minute.

The Bears carried a 5-0 edge into halftime and tacked on three more tallies in the last session. In the 52^nd minute, Endy scored her first career goal in her last collegiate match. Becker found Endy near the crease as Endy tapped the ball into the twine.

Rauh then played a through ball to Becker who blasted a shot to the top right in the 56^th minute.

Bryn Mawr scored its lone goal in the 77^th minute off of a well-placed free kick from Justine Davis, who found Catherine Bactat for a header in the box.

Gardus added her second goal of the game when she poked one home off freshman Rachel Burcaw's corner kick in the 81^st minute.

Ursinus outshot Bryn Mawr (25-5) for the match. Doherty, the Centennial Conference leader with 86 saves, had a quiet day in goal in making one save in one half of work. Sophomore Sarah Embley saved two shots in the second half.

Owls goalie Leah Baer made five saves, and Kinsey Schwab stopped two shots on the day.

Ursinus' victory put the squad over .500 for the first time since 2015. The Bears are trending upward as their four CC wins doubled the total of last season's under second-year head coach Aileen Ascolese.
