Women's Soccer Falls at Dickinson on Late Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's soccer team took on the Red Devils on Saturday. The Bears battled, but ultimately were thwarted by Dickinson 3-2.

Freshman Cailey Sanchez scored her second goal in as many games to get Ursinus on the board. Sanchez finished a ball from senior Erin Farrell to tie the match 1-1 with under five minutes remaining before halftime. That goal erased a lead that Dickinson had secured just 25 seconds into the match.

The Red Devils struck early in the second half to regain the advantage. Nearly one minute later, the Bears answered with a score by senior Jeannie Jasinski to even the match once again. Jasinski now has three goals on the season and 22 in her career.

Senior Courtney Sullivan and the defense held stout, but Dickinson managed to break the draw again, taking a 3-2 lead in the 73rd minute. Sullivan finished with 10 saves for the second match in a row. The senior now has reached double-digit stops in five contests this season.

The Bears fall to 5-9-1, 3-5 on the season. Ursinus will continue to battle for a Centennial Conference playoff berth when they travel to Eastern on Wednesday, October 26. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 P.M.
