Women's Soccer wins Centennial opener, 1-0, over Gettysburg

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College junior forward Erin Farrell (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) scored on a rebound with less than seven minutes left in the second overtime, lifting the Bears (5-1, 1-0 Centennial) over Gettysburg (3-1-2, 0-1 Centennial) Saturday night in women's soccer play.

Farrell scored on a rebound on a shot by sophomore midfielder Katie Bell (Holland, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) that was saved, then Farrell lifted it over the goalkeeper for the win.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan (Maple Glen, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) kept the Bears in the game, making nine saves. With 13 minutes left in the first half, she made a diving save to her right going airborne. Then she made a diving save on a header from point-blank range with 23 minutes left in regulation.

Ursinus will step out of conference on Wednesday taking on Alvernia.
