ST. DAVIDS, Pa - The Ursinus women's soccer team extended their winning streak to three after a 2-1 defeat of Eastern Wednesday night, to round out their non-conference schedule.

Ursinus improves to 8-6-2, for the season giving them their first winning season since 2010.

Leading Ursinus with both goals was senior forward Valerie Bedrock. Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan also had a solid afternoon racking up six saves off of Eastern's twelve shots.

In the first half all was quiet until the 29th minute, when Bedrock rocketed a long shot to the top right corner of the net, outside the reach of the keeper, from twenty five yards out.

With eight minutes remaining in the half, Eastern tied the match off a defensive pass intercepted by the Eagles and lined to the top left corner of the net, tying the game 1-1.

Deep into the second half Ursinus broke the stalemate in the 73rd minute when Jacqueline Smiler distributed a beautiful cross that Bedrock redirected to the far post on a header, giving the keeper no chance for the save.

Ursinus will look to keep momentum making a push to the Centennial Conference Tournament when they travel to Allentown to face Muhlenberg Saturday afternoon.
