CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's soccer team took a big step toward clinching a Centennial Conference playoff spot on Saturday, as the Bears upended regionally-ranked Dickinson by a 2-1 score.

With the win, the Bears (7-6-2, 5-4-2 Centennial) moved into fourth place in the standings with 17 points. With a win in their last game against Muhlenberg next Saturday, the Bears can get into the playoffs. The Bears can also get in with a Swarthmore loss in the Garnet's last two games.

As for Saturday's game, sophomore forward Jacqueline Smiler (West Chester, Pa./W.C. Bayard Rustin) scored on a corner off of Julia Senkevich in the 28th minute to earn the game-winner. Sophomore midfielder Erin Farrell (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) had scored on a header in the 14th minute to tie the game, after Dickinson (11-4-1, 5-3-1 Centennial) scored 38 seconds prior to take an early 1-0 lead.

Despite being outshot 20-12, Ursinus got nine saves from sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan (Maple Glen, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) in the win.  

Ursinus heads to Eastern on Wednesday, before traveling to Muhlenberg on Saturday.
