COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus peppered 22 shots, 13 of them on goal, as the Bears (1-0) defeated Albright (0-1) 3-1 on Friday night in a women's  soccer match. It was the opener for both squads.
 
Ursinus started off the offense quickly, as freshman midfielder Julia Senkevich (Township of Washington, N.J./Westwood Regional) scored on an assist from junior forward Ama Achiaw (Damascus, N.J./Westover School) just 3:57 into the contest for the early lead.
 
At 20:12, Nicole Good scored her first goal of the season to give Ursinus a 2-0 lead heading into intermission.
 
The defensive unit held the Lions in check, allowing just one shot in the first half.
 
Albright could get as close as 2-1 at 77:54 when Rebecca Sartorio scored on an assist from Mel Sullivan.
 
The Bears answered that goal back with just over eight minutes left when freshman midfielder Jeannie Jasinski (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) scored her first goal for a 3-1 lead.
 
Freshman forward Erin Farrell (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) had six shots on the evening, while sophomore defender Kelsey Shafer (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) added in five.
 
Ursinus will take on PSU-Abington Saturday afternoon at Germantown Academy.
