COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A pair of goals by Ursinus College senior midfielder Leah Shaw (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown) was all the Bears (3-8-4) needed in a 4-1 win over PSU-Abington (11-6-1) on Thursday evening in women's soccer action.
Shaw scored in the 34th and 42nd minutes as the Bears won for the first time since September 9.
Freshman midfielder Melissa Arrisueno (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) and sophomore forward Ama Achiaw (Damacus, Md./Westover School) also scored in the second half, while junior midfielder Nicole Good (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and junior forward Sarah Cogswell (Shepherdstown,W.Va./Jefferson) each had assists.
The Nittany Lions scored with 26 seconds left on a goal by junior defender Alyssa Kaye.
Ursinus got four saves from junior goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) in the win, as Ursinus held a 26-6 advantage in shots.
The Bears host Muhlenberg on Saturday.
