COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Bears (3-6, 1-3 CC) only needed one goal to get the win against the Bryn Mawr Owls (5-2-1, 0-2-1 CC) Wednesday night in Centennial Conference play.
Ursinus senior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored (83:29) on a header off of a cornerkick from freshman forward Valerie Bedrock (Waldwick, N.J./Ramsey).
The Bears forced Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Rebecca Joseph to make eight saves on a total of 20 shots. Ursinus sophomore goalkeeper Natasha Tonia (Franklinville, N.J./Saint Joseph High School) recorded four saves on six shots.
Ursinus had a 12-2 corner kick advantage, which turned out to be the decisive factor in a hard fought game.
